Poetry in Indigo

Handout How to Macramé

Project Info:

Level: All Levels

Estimated time: Weekend Project

Project by Janice Parsons

By Grace Noland

When a color is right, it just speaks to you….and that’s how we feel about Indigo. Whether it comes in washed-out jeans or batik-dyed fabric, it is a universal color of sky and water. In Poetry in Indigo, Grace has made a remarkable sample we also think has wide appeal. So if you’re making gifts, we’re pretty sure this is a keeper. Don’t forget that organza bag!

We rated this an all-level project and estimate a beginner beader would need 4-5 hours to make. The technique used is the macramé square knot. Please download the companion handout for instructions.
Please note, this project originally used 4mmDenim Agate beads, which we no longer carry. We've replaced it with 4mm Matte Lapis, but other great options are 4mm Montana or 4mm Luster Stone Blue in Czech Glass.
