Project and Sample by Drea Carbone

With lots of TierraCast lotus love, our new Nugget Cut Czech Glass beads, and of course some macramé, these earrings whip up in no time. If you're in need of a last-minute look for tonight's holiday party or a quick gift, give 'em a whirl!

*Ingredient Notes: Your options to create your own designs are endless...switch up the colors, hoops, connectors, stitches, charms, dangles, length of macramé...bead on the inside, the outside, both sides, none at all. Twist your macramé, make it go all the way around, just sit at the bottom, or take a cue from the Neela earrings and make it asymmetrical. It's entirely up to you! The only thing you need to be sure of is that it all fits...use a cord that goes through your beads, a dangle or connector that fits inside your hoop, etc. Check those measurements!

For Laal, which is the Hindi word for red, Drea cut one 3ft length of 0.4mm CKC for each earring. Securing the ring directly to the side of the project tray with a clamper, or pin it to a macramé board using T-Pins. Whatever suits you best!
With flat beaded macramé knots going around the hoop itself, beads are added every two full knots on the outer strand only. The Lotus Petal Charm at the bottom is added in place of a bead, give a teeny tug to make sure they hang down a little bit and will face forwards and not sideways. Finish with a thread burner (or dab of GS Hypo Cement, thought be aware this can darken the color of your CKC where used) to keep your final knots in place.
Attach an Open Lotus Charm using 6mm Oval Jump Rings from the outer "points" of the lotus flower to the hoop itself, then use the loop of the charm to dangle another charm, a brillolette, or as seen here a bead on a headpin.
Add to your favorite ear wire or post and you're done! Use your 6mm Oval Jump rings, or a smaller one if you like!
