Project Map

Using the monthly mix of April 2026, Spectrum, Janice created a multi-wrap bracelet inspired by the colors and shapes in Hilma af Klint's paintings. A Swedish artist who lived from 1862-1944, af Klint is recognized as one of the early abstract painters, possibly the first. Selected by Miranda as the artist for our monthly mix, af Klint's colors are filled with light and her shapes are lively and fluid.

"The button I picked captures so much of the spirit of af Klint's colorways and brings back my amazing travels in Sweden when I was in college. I remember the light and colors of Sweden being less intense, less saturated when I traveled to the North with friends. It's so beautiful and pure; I hope I was able to capture that in this wrap. This bracet is a four wrap but there was no shortage of half tilas in the tube. With a bit of extra leather (I used 2 yards), you could extend it to a 5 or 6 wraps. I really enjoyed this project. I hope you do too!"~janice
