Maya- February 2019

Custom Mix of Seed Beads and Padres

Unit: tube
$9.95 USD

February is Black History Month and Karen chose to create a monthly mix inspired by one of the world’s leading black writers and poets, Maya Angelou. Her most famous poem, Still I Rise, was recited by Nelson Mandela in 1994 at his presidential inauguration in South Africa. It begins with:

“You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.” Maya Angelou

Isn’t that amazing? Karen has tried to recreate the strength, hope, and power in this curated collection of earthtones. Each bead was chosen with care for its color, size, and shape. As there are a finite number of tubes that we mix, we recommend purchasing early during the month of release. If you would like to recreate the mix yourself, the beads Karen chose are:

If you were to purchase all the beads separately, the cost would be more than $48! This is a great way to try them all and have a special mix custom-blended right in our bead studio. We hope you enjoy Maya as much as we did creating it.

Sold by the tube of 22 grams. Mix may vary slightly from photograph.
