A Weekend of Metal, Meaning & MakingJoin us for our long-awaited Beadshop.com Metals Retreat! Two very full days of creative immersion, learning, and connection in beautiful Old Town Clovis, California. This special workshop is ideal for beginners and anyone eager to expand their metalworking skills in a relaxed, supportive environment.
You’ll spend one day with Kate Richbourg and one with Emily Miller, creating two original jewelry projects that explore the artistry and symbolism of working with metal. Half the group will begin with Kate while the other half starts with Emily— then everyone switches on day two so you experience both styles of metalwork fully.
Signs & Symbols — with Emily MillerDiscover the magic of silver metal clay as you create fine silver charms and components filled with meaning and positivity. Emily will guide you through the shaping, texturing, and firing of your own symbolic designs; pieces that can become personal talismans and heartfelt gifts.

Learn to transform raw metal into something deeply personal. In Kate’s class, you’ll master two essential metalsmithing skills: piercing a pendant with a jeweler’s saw and creating twisted wire links to form a custom chain.
Guided by Kate, you will saw, file, and texture your own hand-cut talisman, then set a small stone in a bezel cup at the center of your pendant to create a unique focal point. Finally, you’ll connect your pendant with links you twist, forge, and shape yourself.
The result is a necklace that feels absolutely timeless and full of character, imbued with your own craftsmanship and intention.
