From 1983-2008, Janice taught beading and jewelry classes at her stores in Palo Alto, Los Altos and San Jose, California. By far, the class the company became known for was Tricks of the Trade; finding inspiration and learning to design using color. 

Now you can download the original handout. Nothing has been updated, so take it with a grain of salt! We hope you enjoy the process of designing without the end in mind. It may be new to you, but as Janice says, “Get the color right and the design will follow.”

Ingredients  - Spool .014 Soft Flex - Package 2x2 crimp beads - 2 beads with large holes - A clasp of your choice (does not need to have multiple loops) - An assortment of seed beads - An assortment of bead caps and metal beads - An assortment of beads 4-8mm (pearls, glass, gemstones, wood, crystal, bone, etc.)
