After Kate shared a series of inspirational photos from a trip to the Farmer’s Market in our FB Group, Alley went to town! She’s designed several amazing pieces, but this is her second Farmer’s Market Wrap. Taking inspiration from a table full of small potted orchids, this wrap uses color and shape to mimic the orchids in Kate’s photo.
With Alley’s help we made a few replacements to her original design, which is pictured. See the Project Map below for more notes on the changes made.
Ingredients list is to the left and easy shopping can be done with the Shop Tab above! To see a breakdown of each individual wrap and Kate’s original photo, please see the Project Map below.

We replaced Alley’s button with one we carry, Tea Leaves, which is a similar size and matches the overall look of the piece. From there, Alley’s first two wraps consist of laddered seed beads in patterns and fades to mimic the coloring of the orchids that inspired her. Her laddering increases and decreases, making diamonds of different sizes, reminiscent of the shape of Orchid petals and leaves. Brilliant!
The third wraps uses 6/0 Seed beads string directly onto the leather with a few macramé knots between each section of colors, finally finishing with beaded macramé, a button loop, and decorated leather ends. We used Happy Donuts to replace the wavy heishi Alley used from her own stash.
Happy beading!
