Project and Sample by Emily Miller
Icy pale blues and silvers are the colors of fog-shrouded bridges. This bracelet is a beautiful homage to the mystery of those misty scenes, topped off with a carved mother of pearl button from the cold northern Pacific. Emily loves the bit of blue thread that peeks out between the beads, it’s her favorite color!
Brick stitch is an ancient stitch, used by Egyptians as well as native Americans. It uses quite a different thread path than Peyote, attaching using loops of thread between the beads. A great addition to your skill set, it is part of our Seed Bead School, which Emily is doing with Kate on Facebook LIVE. Join us LIVE on 8.16.17 on Facebook and learn along. If you’re new to Brick Stitch, buying our Seed Bead School Inna Kit makes learning easy. Once you’ve learned the basics you can easily graduate to colors and get really creative.
