Absolutely a favorite bead we have used again and again as a button in our Poetry in Pearls project, the size sometimes changes on us. It's just something we cannot control. Right now it's back to close to 12-13mm. Made in China from mussels placed in freshwater pools, the mollusk builds a nacré coating over a mother-of-pearl disc. The hole is then drilled later. Button Pearls have imperfections in the nacré over 60% of its surface. Expect variations...they are not perfect!
