Pride Poetry
Project Map
Project by Janice Parsons
Sample by Kate Richbourg
Kate had been brainstorming projects for Pride Month for ages. Before we knew it, June was upon us and still, no project picked out! Luckily, inspiration struck one morning: Poetry! But then June came and went as one of the craziest beadshop months to date with our big move and closing of our Redwood City offices...and not July is here and Kate is finally ready to sit back, relax, and bead with you all! As Kate says, "Pride Month is every month!"
Using Quartz Crystal stone rounds strung on white silk, Kate will macramé around it all in the Philadelphia Pride Flag colors. We will update this pager as the project progresses.
The original rainbow flag or the Philadelphia Pride Flag (representing LGBTQ+ people of color) make for a great project for anyone (including Allies!). With so many flags representing so many people, picking colors of Chinese Knotting Cord to match is a breeze (or, try C-Lon!) Not into the Pride motif? You do you! CKC comes in tons of colors.
This is a project about pride and not profit…in June we a flat donation to a charity near and dear to Kate’s heart, the Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice. If you’d like to learn more or to make your own donation, please visit their website at www.RustinCenter.org to do so!
Happy Pride Month from your beadshop.com staff!
