Eye Bead- Turquoise Gold Plate
7x11mm Zamac with Gold Plate IHD: 1.2mm
Unit: each
$3.75 USD
Dating back 5,000 years, the "evil eye" has been adopted by major religions and multiple cultures to ward off bad intentions and/or those wanting to do harm. An eye bead was worn by infants and small children to keep away sickness and disaster. It is still, to this day, believed to have magical powers.
Although the original blue and white bead, also called the "nazar" in Arabic, is the classic evil eye, it now comes in many shapes, sizes and materials. We chose this Greek-made design for both its beauty and intent gaze... It is stylish yet has a solid glare.... it has to do its job!
Measurements: 7x11mm IHD: 1.2mm. It will string on 1.0mm leather, Chinese Knotting Cord and multiple strands of Waxed Linen or Regular C-Lon.
Project Ideas: This bead could easily work in any Across Cultures bracelet design or a design based on Macramé. Enamel is on one side only.
Made in Greece.
Made of Zamac (or Zamak), this bead is made of a durable, versatile alloy primarily of Zinc, Aluminum, Magnesium, and Copper. It is electroplated with gold and naturally hypo-allergenic. It is also nickel and lead-free.
