Stillwater is all about slowing down and enjoying the process. Instead of following a strict pattern, let the beads guide you as you weave. We love calling this technique "pebbling" because the 3mm Fire Polish beads take center stage here and settle together like smooth river stones along a quiet stream.
A simple trick is to mix all of your beads together before you begin and pick them up randomly as you stitch. Try not to add the same bead twice in a row, and every so often, glance back at your work to make sure all of the colors are making an appearance. You may discover that one color has quietly disappeared from the mix for a few rows—and that's perfectly okay.
Like the gentle flow of water over stones, each bracelet develops its own rhythm and character. There are no mistakes here—just beautiful, organic color combinations that make every bracelet one of a kind.
A Note on Stringing Materials:
This design uses 0.5mm leather cord for the outer warp threads and Fine C-Lon for the inner warp threads. The warp threads run vertically along the length of the bracelet. KO thread is used for the weft, which runs horizontally from side to side and carries the beads as you weave.
For the outer warp threads, you may substitute 0.4mm or 0.5mm Chinese knotting cord, or even 1mm leather. Regardless of the material used for the warp threads, KO thread is recommended for the weft in this design.
