Originally made from vintage kimonos, Japanese Chirimen Cord is sewn today from a variety of traditional patterns and colors and manufactured in small batches by a little company in Japan. Inside the crepe fabric is an acrylic center cord which gives the cord body and its distinctive tubular shape. When this project was made we used a thicker Kimono Cord, but we think this project would look lovely with our new, thinner cord...create your own bracelet or necklace with our new patterns!
