Project and Sample by Janice Parsons

Janice pays tribute to her heritage with this trio of necklaces in blue and gold. Her grandparents came from Ukraine in 1900 when it was part of Russia, and Janice wanted to create a piece in honor of her family and of Ukraine, to send a message saying "we are with you." As we all hope for peace and safety of those in harm's way, Janice reflects on her own family story:

"My grandfather, Mendel, was forcibly conscripted into the Russian Army...but he went AWOL and ran away! He came to America, then sent for and married my grandmother, Bessie. Both Bessie and Mendel came from a rural area near Kyiv. It's likely their families helped to make the match, but we aways said Bessie came via mail order bride! They lived in the Bronx and raised five daughters, the youngest was Lydia."

JP's trio of necklaces are designed to be worn together, but would also be beautiful worn singly. Using a findings Variety Pack means you can make multiple pieces with perfectly matched findings.
