Copper Head

by Janice Parsons

Copper has to be my lucky color. I decided to name this 5 wrap bracelet after a chance encounter with a Copperhead Snake I had on the Rogue River in Oregon. I was napping in my sleeping bag after lunch when I felt something very heavy move across my chest. I didn’t breathe or blink but slowly opened one eye to see this fierce, out-of-this-world snake slither away over me…I stayed perfectly still and to this day, I consider myself very lucky when I wear copper. And by pairing it with blue, it is a constant reminder of how lucky I was that day. The techniques of macramé and laddering are covered in our video, Stackable Ladder Bracelet by Brittany Ketcham and we recommend you watch it if you are new to laddering.
