Constellation Jewels- Phoenix

Project Info:

Level: Beginner

Estimated time: 4-6 Hours

By Sam Applegate

This constellation, known as The Phoenix, can be seen in the Southern Hemisphere and was named by the Greeks for a mythical firebird. The intense red garnet and antiqued brass in this design are as mesmerizing as the flames that are believed to have burned in the nest of this giant bird. Being the birthstone for January babies, this set makes a wonderful gift. This project explores a combination of stringing and wire wrapping skills to create a cohesive jewelry set. Techniques include patterning and stringing gemstones, using end tips, and wire wrapping beads and briolettes.
