This piece is a love letter to 37th Street and those fun times spent shopping the old-school bead vendors of Manhattan where stepping behind the counter meant discovering the good stuff! Inspired by Janice and her mom Lydia's early trips to the NYC bead district, this necklace captures the thrill of unearthing beautiful vintage Czech glass beads and bringing those treasures back to The Bead Shop in it's early brick and mortar days.
Rooted in the spirit of vintage charm bracelets and collected-over-time necklaces, this project features table-cut Czech glass bead mixes with rich color, texture, and unmistakable old-world character. Each bead feels like a tiny find and tresure.
The design encourages play and intuition. Beads and charms dangle from chain in an easy, organic way, inviting you to cluster, layer, or let pieces stand alone. Thereâs no single layout, just creative freedom and the joy of letting the materials guide you.
A nostalgic, expressive project that celebrates Beadshop history, beautiful beads, and the magic of those fun times spent discovering something special.
