Project and Sample by Emily Miller
With inspiration from nature, Emily has pushed the boundaries of the St. Petersburg Chain technique into new directions and dimensions! St. Petersburg chain belongs to a group of stitches that originate in Russia, which has a rich bead weaving culture. It has a very unusual thread path…it leads to all kinds of options: single, double, and even into three dimensions for a full and textured design.
Emily says, “I loved learning this stitch, its a bit perplexing at first, but it works up quickly.” This will be a design that you'll make again and again, switching out colors, and adding more layers.
