Made of 108 beads in Turitella Agate, this very simple mala was originally embellished with a bone pendant and antique brass bead. The beads and pendant are no longer available, but we have made some suggestions in the ingredients list for replacements...use one, or find something else that speaks to you! Traditionally, a mala is used in Buddhism for meditation and chanting. With 108 beads plus a guru bead, they are both functional and beautiful. In this sample, Janice kept with the classic all-one-bead design and made it artisan by adding the rustic pendant.
In this project, you will learn to knot using the classic pearl knotting method. Janice also covers how to knot the closure seamlessly, what cord size to use and how to add a tassel.
