Custom 8/0 Miyuki Bead Mix

$10.95 USD
Our February Monthly Mix continues our Women Artists Series, and this month Kate found inspiration in the serene, contemplative work of Abstract Expressionist Agnes Martin.
Agnes Martin is best known for her subtle grid paintings and softly layered fields of color. At first glance her work appears simple, even minimal. But when you spend time with it, you begin to notice the quiet complexity. Hand-drawn lines that gently waver. Colors that shift almost imperceptibly. A sense of rhythm, balance, and calm that unfolds slowly.
Martin believed her paintings were not about the visible world, but about emotion and inner experience. Her work invites stillness. It asks you to slow down, to look closely, and to notice the beauty in repetition and nuance. That feeling guided this month’s mix.
Using 8/0 Miyuki seed beads, Kate created a palette built on soft blues, gentle greys, inky charcoals, and soft neutrals. Like Agnes Martin’s paintings, the beauty emerges not from a single bead, but from how they live together.
