In the blue and yellow colors of the Ukrainian flag, this three-wrap Prairie features simple sliders and macramé with 0.5mm leather, letting the bold clasp do the talking.
Ingredient Notes: 1 yard of 0.5mm leather will net you about 2.5" of macramé knots. Drea used 1 full yard of the 5mm strap leather, making a 3-wrap bracelet with the leather side-by-side. If you have a larger wrist or want to create a longer wrap, buy a second yard of strap leather!
In March we were all struck by the story of a young Ukranian woman confronting a heavily armed invading soldier, handing him sunflower seeds (the sunflower being the national flower of Ukraine) and telling him to take the seeds so that they'll grow when he died. The video of her courageous encounter quickly went viral and brought their brutal reality to our own eyes.
We continue to hope for an end to this conflict, but until such a time, we support the Ukranians in their effort to protect themselves and push for peace. One small way we can show support is with making symbolic jewelry, and that's where this project comes in. Over the winter and spring we were inundated with requests for blue and yellow jewelry ideas...maybe I am a bit late to the party, but finding this gorgeous sunflower clasp brought this vision to life.
