Golden Ombre

Project Info:

Project and Sample by Emily Miller

Emily loves the colors of California, especially in late summer when the hills behind her home in Berkeley turn so many golden shades of brown and cream. In this gorgeous Peyote Stitch design, ombré color shift is the technique Emily uses to create art.

Peyote Stitch looks fancy but is easy to do. A great addition to your skill set, it is part of our Seed Bead School, which Emily is doing with Kate on Facebook LIVE. Click on the VIDEO tab above and learn along. If you’re new to Peyote, buying our Seed Bead School Inna Kit makes learning Peyote Stitch easy. Once you’ve learned the basics you can easily graduate to colors, like Golden Ombré, and get really creative.

Project Map

Emily’s Golden Ombré sample will fit an 8 inch wrist. However, in the video, she talks about how you can adjust length by shortening the rows in the solid-color sections. Be sure to consider the length of the button loop in your final-length calculation. This bracelet uses the flat style of Peyote Stitch, and can be done with any four colors of 11/0 seed beads. The sky is the limit!
