2024 Bead Retreat: Color Your World

The 2024 Bead Retreat is coming: August 16-19, 2024. Located in the foothills behind San Juan Bautista, California, the beautiful St. Francis Retreat Center is a unique setting that draws us back year after year. Get ready for a creative and relaxing weekend of learning and friendship.

Each year a theme is selected for the retreat. This year we are exploring color! Kate and Janice, along with special guest instructor Cynthia Thornton and her daughter Azalea, will delve into different avenues of color in the design world. Your instructors have planned a program that includes favorite tricks, tried and true techniques, and nuggets of bead wisdom. The goal for 2024 is fun, rejuvenation, creative exploration, and most of all, making connections through shared workshops and time spent exploring skills.

Among other exercises, demos, and personal beading time we have three main breakout sessions planned. All participants will rotate through these:

• Color on Green Girl Components:  Using a kit curated by Cynthia herself, students will learn to add color to Green Girl charms. Students will have a variety of charms and metal paints to keep.
  
• Making Metal Memories: Kate brings metal stamps, blanks, and metal patinas for students to make unique metal components and tags to incorporate in jewelry.
• The Nature of Color: Tap into the inspiration of nature as a starting point to designing. Janice shows students how to experiment with sourcing from the outside. The secrets to patterning and color selection are done for us by Mother Nature, all we have to do is follow the dots and dashes.

We will wrap up the retreat on Monday with creative beading time until the Retreat ends at 2 pm. We are so excited to have you join us this year! Be prepared for goodies, laughter, creativity, good food, and friendship. 

All meals and lodging are included in the admission price. All rooms are private. If you wish to share a room with a friend, please contact us and arrangements can be made for a double occupancy room.

Retreat Registration: $1525. 
Includes meals, housing and workshop instruction.
A non-refundable $400 deposit payment will hold your space with the balance due by July 7, 2024.
