Project and Sample by Janice Parsons

Rich shades of Mahogany Obsidian seem to melt together in what we can only call a study in deep chocolate. Using very simple techniques, Janice has created a macramé necklace and pendant that are runway ready. They may look complicated, but are actually simple to replicate with almost any pendant and stone beads. And what makes Born Yesterday so versatile is that the necklace can be worn long (with our without a pendant) or doubled and worn short. We rate it “All Levels.” It takes only an afternoon to make. Review the Ingredients List below for quantities of ingredients needed and then open the SHOP and TOOLS tabs above to purchase. If you would like to concoct your own version, please go to Born Yesterday Recipe.

Life Partners is 40 inches in length. You can lengthen it by adding more Rice Beads or shorten it by leaving beads out. Although this necklace is longer than Born Yesterday by 4-6 inches, the length to cut the C-Lon is the same: 2 pieces 3 yards in long.

Follow the steps used in the Born Yesterday Tutorial. A Pagoda Bead used as the button and above the Fish Pendant don’t require added metal beads to fill in the large bead holes. Click here to download the PDF.
