Project and Sample by Kate Richbourg
Kate went leather crazy!! And that's definitely a good thing. Rawhide brings us four techniques, one per wrap: a four-strand braid, herringbone, a three-strand braid, and an Odyssey-style knotting. Add in transition techniques like macramé and silk wraps, and you've got a real winner. It's almost like a sampler, only instead of embroidery we're working with leather techniques! Pretty cool, Kate!
Take note: Kate really envisioned this piece in all one color of leather, but used a secondary color for learning purposes in the show. If you want her vision, use all one color. If you like the multi-color idea, go for it! The secondary color she uses is 1.5mm Distressed Mahogany.
