Poetry in Firefly

Handout

Project Info:

Level: All

Estimated time: 3 hours

Project variation by Kate Richbourg
Sample by Grace Noland

At twilight, tiny flying insects called fireflies light up the night sky with their bioluminescence. Their bright light is intended to attract mates and, like this 4-wrap sample, we think it works. Grace has found the right balance of both color and shine with the ingredients she chose. Based on a design that has been made and remade by so many, Poetry uses one macramé stitch on Micro C-Lon. Wear it long or wrap it around, it’s a multi-strand bracelet or necklace. We also know it makes a fantastic summer anklet!

Project Map

Intended to wrap multiple times around your wrist or wear as a long or short necklace, the length of Firefly is 27-1/2 inches. It will wrap four times around a 6-1/2 inch wrist. Whether you space your beads out more with additional knots or you add more beads (you will have more than enough from the ingredients list), you can make this Poetry wrap six times, if you like.
