Petrified wood is a wonder to behold…millions of years in the making, the natural organic material is slowly replaced by minerals, leaving behind colorful petrified wood. The logs in the Petrified Forest of Arizona are surrounded by wind-eroded canyons and rock formations, desert shrubs, fossils, and wildlife. Having visited as a child, Kate remains struck by the very idea of petrified wood, and it’s still one of her favorite materials to work with today! This unique location inspired Kate to develop a Prairie bracelet using the colors found in the natural beauty of this Arizona landscape.
Prairie is one of our most beloved projects and Petrified Forest takes it to a new level with the addition of the half-circle magnetic clasp and a new top-stitch beading technique, we wonder why we never thought of doing before!
Additional Learning:
Ingredients list is to the left and easy shopping can be done with the Shop Tab above! To view more photo angles and notes, please see the Project Map below.
Please join us as our worldwide community gathers on Facebook at 10:30am Pacific Time on April 11th, 2018. It’s so much fun to go live with us and bead together! After the live broadcast the video will be available above.

Project Map
This is an All Levels Project and can be completed in 4+ hours. This design uses one meter of strap leather and will net a 5-6 wrap bracelet, depending on your wrist size.
Have fun beading and we hope you find inspiration from Nature around you. And, if you can, learn more about how we can help Save our National Parks.
