Our trio of TGBE Midwinter Market kits are looking at how we ladder...Kate's taking it to the next level. Named for three women innovators (who, of course, had their ideas claimed by men), these kits are our pride and joy.
Willie Mae "Big Mama" Thornton was a blues singer-songwriter who originally recorded the song "Hound Dog," made famous by Elvis Presley. His success eclipsed both hers and the message of the song, originally "an anthem of black Women's power," and turned into a song about...an actual dog. Want to hear her original song?
