Whether you are organizing a beading project for your next Girls’ Night In, or you want to make matching bracelets for you and your guy…and BFF, here is a project that nets you three bracelet styles: a single wrap, a double wrap, and a triple wrap…all with minimal ingredients. For a limited time, we also have a Stormy Skies Kit, with everything you need to make it and share it.
Using just 3 basic techniques, you can create a look you and two best buds can love to wear. Download our PDF to learn step-by-step how to create each sample. Also review the Project Map below for a bird’s eye view of each Stormy Skies design. We hope you enjoy!
- Skill Builders used in this project:
- How to Secure a Project to a Board
- How to Macramé
- How to Ladder
- How to Add Thread to a Laddering Project
- How to Singe Cord Using a Thread Zap*
Please note: The project handout demonstrates using a thread burner to singe the excess cords. You can complete this project without it; just be sure to allow the glue to dry and then cut your excess cord away. Thread burners may be purchased online or a craft store near you. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Stormy Skies
Project Map
Stormy Skies is three beaded wrap bracelets, you can adjust both the designs and lengths to accommodate wrist sizes. The ingredients listed in the SHOP tab will make all 3 bracelets.
In this project the samples measure:
His 1 Wrap: 8-1/2inches*, which is long for the average man’s wrist. The average wrist size for a man is 8-9 inches. If you’re not sure the wrist size, we recommend keeping your beadwork to a total length of 6-3/4 inches and adding a second button loop to make it adjustable.
Hers 3 Wrap: 20-1/2 inches*, which is long enough for the average woman’s wrist of 6-¾ inches. If you’re not sure the wrist size, we recommend keeping your beadwork to a total length of 18 inches and adding a second button loop to make it adjustable.
BFF 2 Wrap: 13-½ inches*, which is long enough for the average woman’s wrist of 6-¾ inches. If you’re not sure the wrist size, we recommend keeping your beadwork to a total length of 11 inches and adding a second button loop to make it adjustable.
*This measurement is from the middle of the button to where to the end of the button loop. It does not include the tails.
