Kate's Temperature Project 2023

Get ready, get set...it's time for a fun yearlong project with Kate! Having wanted to create something like this for a long time, she is finally ready to do it. Want to join in? Please do!! 

Each day of 2023 Kate will add to her Peyote in the Round necklace. She'll record the day's temperatures, any major weather events, and the start of a new month with color-coded beads. At the end of the year, she'll have over 365 rows of Peyote...and a fun new necklace!

Drea is joining in, and we've heard from several others who want to, too! So let's do it!! We'll keep you updated on Kate's progress right here on this page. Click the PDF links at the top of this page to print out your own sheets for dates/temps and for colors...you can use Kate's colors or fill in your own. You can do this your way! For example, Drea is doing two pieces...one of high temps, one of low temps...and she's not including weather events or noting a new month. As always, there is no right or wrong way to do this--just YOUR way!

Here are a few facts about Kate's piece so far: There have been 33 rainy days, 2 heavy wind days, 2 heavy fog days, and 2 thunderstorm days. Her coldest recorded temperature was 33˚ on 1.23.23 and her warmest was 87˚ from 4.10.23. So far her necklace has 484 rows and 2,904 beads.
