Project and Sample by Emily Miller

Colors inspired by a bountiful garden: Sunflowers with nodding heads, green tomatoes that might not quite ripen before the first frost…this bracelet is a mix of traditional brick stitch and organic netting stitch which remind us of the tangle of growth at the end of the season.

Brick stitch is an ancient stitch, used by Egyptians as well as native Americans. It uses quite a different thread path than Peyote, attaching using loops of thread between the beads. A great addition to your skill set, it is part of our Seed Bead School, which Emily is doing with Kate on Facebook LIVE. Join us LIVE on 8.16.17 on Facebook and learn along. If you’re new to Brick Stitch, buying our Seed Bead School Inna Kit makes learning easy. Once you’ve learned the basics you can easily graduate to colors and get really creative.
