Originally made in Bohemia, these unique beads were used for trade in Africa as late as the early 1900’s. Because of their milky white coloring and opalescent quality, Dutch Traders gave them their nickname, “Moon Beads.” This batch was discovered in Nigeria, but they may still be sold throughout West Africa. Some may date back more than 200 years and some are less than 50 years old...it’s a mix. Expect variations in size, opacity, color, and shape. And, because they are antique, expect them to be dinged and scratched. Note: Bead age and quality varies.
Sold in package of 5 beads.
