Striped in shades of white and purple, Dog Teeth Amethyst is mined in Namibia, Africa and has a very distinctive look. They are part Amethyst and part White Quartz. How did they get their funny name? When they are mined, the banded amethyst is found in a longer, more pointed shape that looks very much like a dog tooth! It would be a shame to cover these amazing beads all over with beadweaving like in Carrier Bead Bracelet, but some seed bead embellishment would look fantastic. Because they are made from natural stones, expect variations in color, shape, and size. Holes are consistent, however due to the delicate nature of Amethyst and Quartz, these elongated beads can crack under pressure.
Sold by the 8 inch strand approximately 19-20 beads.
