Absolutely a favorite bead we have used again and again as a button in our Poetry in Pearls project, the size sometimes changes on us. It's just something we cannot control. Right now it's back to close to the original 14mm and we're tickled pink. Made in China from mussels placed in freshwater pools, the mollusk builds a nacré coating over a mother-of-pearl disc. The hole is then drilled later. Button Pearls have imperfections in the nacré over 60% of its surface. Expect variations...they are not perfect!
