The 2025 Beadshop.com Retreat: Back to Our Roots!  

Step into a world where beads tell stories, stitches hold history, and creativity knows no bounds. This year, we’re taking it back to our roots—focusing on foundational techniques that have shaped the jewelry-making journeys of Kate, Janice, and Emily. Each will share favorite methods, woven with experience, tradition, and a deep love for the craft.  

And this year, we’ve added something special— an extra day! We’ll begin on Friday at 4 PM and stay together through Tuesday afternoon, giving us even more time to create, connect, and make lifelong memories.  

We’ll wrap up on Tuesday after lunch (by 2 PM) —but not before we’ve filled our hearts and hands with creativity, inspiration, and a whole lot of fun. Be prepared for goodies, laughter, delicious food, and the joy of beading together.

What’s in Store?  

In addition to plenty of time to work on personal beading projects under the expert guidance of instructors Kate, Janice, and Emily, we also have three sessions headed up by each of your instructors. 

 Precious Metal Clay with Emily – Emily has loved Precious Metal Clay (PMC) since 1999, and she’s bringing with her the kilns and all the supplies you need to create your own buttons, beads, and small charms! She’ll guide you through texturing, firing, and patinas —all included! (Sorry, no ring-making this year... but maybe next year?)  

Tiaras, Combs & Charms with Janice – A true time capsule from the early days, this project was a customer favorite at The Bead Shop. With point-back rhinestones, tiny pearls, and shimmering beads, Janice will show you how to create an encrusted masterpiece using fail-safe, magical techniques.  

Wrap Bracelets with Kate – Kate is bringing her love of wrap bracelets to the retreat, and each participant will receive a Kate-curated kit designed exclusively for this event! You’ll create one of the most innovative wrap bracelets yet, blending design, technique, and Kate’s signature style.  

Further details will be provided after enrollment, including suggested items to bring for both bead time and your comfort over the weekend.  

The Details  

• Dates: August 15–19, 2025  
• Location: St. Francis Retreat Center, San Juan Bautista, California  
• Cost: $1650 (Includes instruction and all materials, a private room, and all meals & snacks). 

How to Reserve Your Spot 

• A deposit today of $400 secures your spot at the retreat. You may pay the entire amount today if you wish. Choose from the pulldown menu.
• If you are paying a deposit only, the remaining balance of $1250 is due by June 15, 2025.  
• Deposits and retreat fees are non-refundable unless we are able to fill your spot.
