The 2023 Bead Retreat is here, August 18-21, 2023. We are so excited to be planning the Fourth Annual Beadshop beading workshop. We hope you can join us! Located in the foothills behind San Juan Bautista, California, the beautiful St. Francis Retreat Center is a unique setting that draws us back year after year. Get ready for a creative and relaxing weekend of learning and friendship.
Every year a theme is selected for the retreat. This year it is Tricks of the Trade: Sharing our Knowledge. Between Janice, Kate, and Emily, they have more than 100 years of beading and design expertise. Their goal for 2023 is that each participant will develop further and refine their creative voice through shared workshops and time exploring skills. This weekend will be one for the ages! Your instructors have planned a program that includes favorite tricks, tried and true techniques, and nuggets of bead wisdom.
Among other exercises, demos, and personal beading time we have three main breakout sessions planned. All participants will rotate through these:
Perfect Patterning, building a design through the use of patterns with Janice.
Beaded and Fiber Tassels, an exploration of fiber and beads in tassel making with Kate.
Wire and Chain, learning how to mix chain and beads to create new designs with Emily.
We will wrap up the retreat on Monday with creative beading time and the retreat ends at 3 pm. We are so excited to have you join us this year! Be prepared for goodies, laughter, creativity, good food, and friendship.
All meals and lodging are included in the admission price. All rooms are private. If you wish to share a room with a friend, please contact us and arrangements can be made for a double occupancy room. Proof of Covid vaccination upon arrival is required for attendance. As of current California guidelines, masks will not be required for the event. Cleaning protocols and sanitizing supplies are provided for common work areas.

Bead Retreat Balance Payment: $1075.00.
Includes meals, housing and workshop instruction. The balance payment is due by June 30, 2023. Retreat is non-discountable and is non-refundable. Space is limited.
