Matte Onyx- 6mm Rounds

Black Onyx is a classic, semi-precious bead that deserves kudos for its long history in jewelrymaking. That solid, black color been with us since ancient times and it has always been dyed or treated to eliminate the natural banding in the sardonyx stone. To modernize onyx, matting has been introduced. It requires additional tumbling steps to create the powdery finish: After the beads have been polished, they go back in the tumbler with just the right amount of grit to remove the polish and create the powdered patina that’s so much in demand today.

Sizing Info: Right at 6mm! For knotting, we recommend Fine C-Lon.
