Wire guardians are a great way to add a polished look to your finished piece. They protect your strining wire from rubbing against the clasp, prolonging the life of your jewelry. It takes a few trys to get the hang of it, so practice dummy pieces before tackling a finished project.

Crimping pliers, crimp beads, crimp covers
Once your design is complete, add a crimp bead to the Soft Flex.
Slide one side of a wire guardian onto the Soft Flex, with the loop-shaped end of the wire guardian facing away from the crimp bead.
Slide your clasp onto the open side of the wire guardian. You may need to gently pry open the wire guardian using your pliers, depending on the thickness of the clasp.
String the loose end of the Soft Flex through the clasp, through the second end of the wire guardian and finally through the crimp bead.
Using the crimping tool, crimp as usual, but be sure not to crimp too close to the wire guardian. You will need this extra room for your crimp bead cover.
Finish crimping the crimp bead and add a crimp cover for a polised look.
