Cone Closure

Taper off your multi-strand creation using a cone and a single strand of Soft Flex onto the clasp. This makes for the most professional look!

Project Level: Beginner     Time to Complete: Depends on Experience

Ingredients

- Gold fill or sterling silver 2mm or 3mm round beads
- End cones
- 2x2 crimp beads

Studio Essentials

- Wire cutters
- Crimp tool
- Soft Flex

Step 1

Step 1

Cut 5" of Soft Flex.  String on a crim tube and make a small loop at the end.  Crimp the tube closed.

Step 2

Step 2

Crimp each strand of the finished neclace onto the previously made loop.  Use 2mm beads to taper the bulkey beads into the cone.  They will be hidden by the cone

Step 3

Step 3

Slide the cone on the tail of soft flex from the first step.  Make sure it coveres the 2mm beads and lies snugly against the main beads in the strands.

Step 4

Step 4

Add a 3mm bead and a 2x2 crimp above the cone.  The 3mm bead keeps the cone from swallowing up the crimp bead.

Step 5

Step 5

Crimp the Soft Flex and cut the strand.  Repeat the steps on the other side, but be sure to leave to clasp connected as you close the other side.  This will keep you from crimping too thightly, making for a stiff drape.
